Tombura citizens mobilize assistance for Naandi fire victims

Tombura County Commissioner on Thursday held a public meeting to discuss how to mobilize resources for assisting victims of fire outbreaks in Naandi Payam of Ezo County, Western Equatoria State.
 
Tombura County Press Secretary Muabida Samuel reported that Commissioner Babiro Charles Gbamisi met civil servants, health and education officials, traders, civil society and Church leaders, Radio Anisa reported.
 
He announced that Commissioner Babiro donated 1,000 South Sudanese Pounds, Executive Director Bodi Michael gave 100 Pounds and Paramount Chief Ambaribamu Baabe Renzi contributed one bag of maize.
 
Mr Samuel said citizens agreed to contribute voluntarily in kind or cash within two weeks time to assist their neighbours in Ezo County.
 
The Press Secretary said the Commissioner advised the public to clean around their houses to prevent fire outbreaks, urging them to embrace agriculture and education in 2015.
 
In other developments, Tombura County reported exporting food items surplus including cassava flour and yams to other towns and neighboring states.
