A group of civil society organizations led by South Sudan Law Society is conducting a two-day validation workshop on citizens’ views on the expected permanent constitution of South Sudan.
Farouk Ismail Ukach of South Sudan Law Society said the workshop aims at validating citizen’s views collected in 2011 and aggregating further concerns on the constitution, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
He called on all citizens not to lose hope but persist on giving their views through the civil society groups.
Jur River County Commissioner Simon Athwai said getting citizens’ views into the constitution would make them own the laws governing them, calling on the participants to critically review what they contributed four years ago.
The validation workshop drew nearly 40 participants including chiefs at PALICA Centre.
