Yei River County Tuberculosis or TB department is appealing for more food assistance and awareness to prevent the disease from spreading.
Speaking to Radio Easter in an exclusive interview, Felix Tongu, a nurse at Yei TB ward noted that they admitted 65 patients to the facility since the beginning of the year.
He said lack of awareness and food became a big challenge to the department.
Mr Tongu called for community mobilizers’ training to talk about TB and HIV over the media for people to know the signs and symptoms of killer diseases and report to the health centres.
He appealed for food and moral support to those admitted to the health facility.
