The Superior General of Salesian of Don Bosco family on Thursday arrived in Wau Catholic Diocese for his first visit to South Sudan.
Fr Angel Artime was received at St Joseph Primary School with hundreds of Christians chanting and singing welcoming songs while pupils presented different dances, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
He told the Salesian priests, sisters, brothers and pupils that his visit aimed at encouraging and strengthening the Don Bosco family and those serving God’s people.
The head of Salesian Institute in Wau Sister Delorance Alphoneso described the Superior’s visit as the trip of Don Bosco himself to help encourage them to pass God’s message to the young people.
She appreciated the Christian community for cooperating with their family, assuring that they would be able to build the kingdom of God in South Sudan.
The East Africa Provincial Superior Fr Ganni Rolandi and delegate Superior of Sudan and South Sudan Fr Ferrington Ryan accompanied the Superior General of Salesian family to Wau.
Fr General Artime first visited Don Bosco family in Tonj before extending his holistic trip to Wau.
He is expected to return to Rome, Italy on Saturday.
