Tombura Parish wins Diocesan music competition

Tombura Choir scored 171.5 emerging the first in the Diocesan music festival organized on Friday at St Mary Cathedral Parish in Yambio.
 
Maridi Parish took the second place with 171, St Mary Yambio Parish occupied the third position scoring after 170 and St Bakhita Yabongo Parish became the fourth with 165, Radio Anisa reported.
 
The best female conductor came from Yangiri Parish and the best male conductor came from St Thomas Parish, while Maringindo portrayed good example in activeness.
 
The best durmasts were from St Mary Yambio and Maridi Parishes while Tombura and Ezo Parishes performed well in playing xylophones.
 
Judges Fr Joseph Nzaku Charles Otieno who announced the results on Sunday said 17 out of 19 parishes participated in singing one set piece of thanksgiving and different assigned songs composed on matrimony and peace.
 
The Judges said the remaining parishes passed above minimum points while Rimenze and Monguo did not participate.
 
Certificates and trophies were awarded after results announcement.
