A delegation from the Sudan People Liberation Movement-North or SPLM-N arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday to participate in the 20th anniversary for the first post-apartheid parliament.

The delegation that consisted of Chairman Malik Agar, Secretary General Yasir Arman and its representative in South Africa Saber Abu-Sa’diya, met President Jacob Zuma, his deputy, Cyril Ramaphosa and Speaker Baleka Mbete, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

SPLM-N leaders told their South African counterparts of human rights abuses and repression of the regime and setting up elections that do not represent the popular will of the Sudanese people.

The delegation also explained the ongoing oppression and commission of war crimes, and developments including signing of Sudan call accord.

The Movement stressed its adherence to the accord and dismissed ‘rumours’ of seeking compromise with the Sudanese government.

It recalled African Union Resolution 456 regarding a constitutional conference for Sudanese parties to be headed by a preparatory meeting in AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
