Wau Catholic Schools open new academic year with prayers

Hundreds of pupils, teachers and parents of Wau Catholic Schools on Monday morning gathered at St Mary’s Cathedral to open the new academic year with prayers.
 
Fr Christo Justo who presided over the Eucharistic celebration, advised pupils to respect the rules and regulations of Catholic Church, urging them to take prayers as the first priority in live to achieve their goals, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
He told pupils that education is the key and light of human life, urging them to study hard in order to become good future leaders of the country.
 
Fr Justo appealed to head teachers and parents to educate pupils about the teachings of the Catholic Church to grow strong in faith.
 
He request teachers to take full responsibility in imparting quality and correct knowledge to pupils.
 
Catholic Education Officer Lodongi Mathew Lino said the prayers aimed at uniting pupils and plant in them the spirit of peace and love.
 
He added that the prayer also aimed to allow teachers and pupils to carry out their duties smoothly in 2015/2016 academic year.
 
Mr Mathew pledged that Catholic Schools’ administration would exert more efforts to offer quality education to pupils to help reduce illiteracy rate in the country.
