Residents of Malual-Bab village in Rumbek town were terrified about the report that many lions were seen moving at night in the town, causing great fear among inhabitants forcing them to go in their houses early in the evening.

An eyewitness Margret Akur told Radio Good News on Monday that she was taking bath when a lion came where she was showering and began roaring while looking at her around 8:30 PM and she ran to the house and shut the door.

She said the same night the lions attacked some women while having their super in the same village and the women again ran into their house and remained inside until morning.

Ms Akur added that when the women came out the following morning, they saw the lion’s footmarks in the compound and behind the house.

Village elders were called to the scene to testify the information and advised residents to be in their houses by 8: PM to avoid lion’s attacks.

Last year nine people were eaten by the angry hyena in PDU village in Rumbek Town.
