The sixth Youth Congress of Catholic Diocese of Rumbek started at Holy Family Cathedral on Thursday evening with welcoming speeches from Church leaders and government officials.
The Congress under the theme: ‘Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with all’ was organised to help Christian young people come together.
Good News Radio reporter Daniel Laat Kon said hundreds of youths from ten out of fourteen parishes across Lakes and part of Warrap States turned up for the congress.
He said St Anselm Parish Awerial, Holy Cross Yirol West, Agangrial in Cuiebet and Warrap Parishes did not attend the conference due to insecurity and bad roads.
The Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan and Kenya Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo is expected join Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau on Friday to be part of the Youth Congress.
