Three parishes in Malakal Catholic Diocese reopened with a solemn mass at St Mary’s church on Sunday for the first time since the beginning of the current conflict.
There were also Eucharistic celebrations at Joseph’s Cathedral and Christ the King’s parishes, Radio Sawt Al Mahabba reported.
Malakal Diocese Vicar General Fr Angelo Mojwok in his homily stressed the importance of confession as a good preparation for Christmas, to be reconciled with God and with one another.
He welcomed state government officials and told them that the Church is always ready to cooperate with them for the good of the people.
