Kajo-Keji County Assistant Press Secretary on Monday said local community members remain concerned and sceptical about police deployment in Payam Headquarters for Christmas season due to recent student murder by police.
Derrick Dickson told CRN that community members expressed anger to Kajo-Keji Commissioner Henry Kala Sabuni during his payam tour program after displaying a plan to deploy more police and security personnel.
He said deployment of at least ten police personnel to each Payam Headquarters is crucial for security and peace maintenance during the Christmas season.
Mr Dickson revealed that so far two police officers are in the Payam Headquarters all over Kajo-Keji County.
The press official observed that preparations for Christmas in Kajo-Keji are ongoing, citing decoration of huts, shopping and booking of entertainment halls.
He added that he saw excitement and warm welcome of the festival among residents there.
Recent reports indicated that Kajo-Keji residents lost trust in police and that they do not need law enforcement agents’ intervention in their social life.
