International Rescue Committee or IRC announced launching a prevention campaign against gender-based violence in South Sudan on December 4.
IRC South Sudan’s Women’s Protection and Empowerment Senior Manager Pamela Tuiyott said the campaign aims at promoting positive messages for change in local communities, Radio Bakhita reported.
IRC Communication Consultant Virginia William said the campaigns would be carried out in four states of South Sudan as a pilot research project.
She revealed a plan to extend the campaign to other states in 2015.
The prelaunch of the campaign took place in Juba on Friday with a press conference.
