Lakes Education Minister said the 2013 South Sudan Certificate Exams results raised the morale of the state which was only known for bad news.
Dut Makoi Kuok told Good News Radio in a telephone from Juba on Thursday that Lakes State led in the Secondary School Exams with three quarters of its candidates passed above 60 percent.
He explained that 510 students are eligible for university admissions next year and that Akoldit Along Biliu from Pankaar Secondary School was the best student in the state with 87 percent.
The Minister appreciated Governor Matur Chut Dhuol, teachers and staff of State Ministry for encouragement and academic guidance that made the candidates achieve national recognition.
He urged Lakes State citizens to celebrate what he called ‘good news’.
The Minister said Lakes State results would be sent to Rumbek on Friday, advising students to wait instead of travelling to Juba.
