Western Bahr El Ghazal government official warned priests against involvement into politics and using the altar for preaching their personnel interests.

State Youth and Sports Minister Elia Kamilo Dimo told thousands of faithful during the Christ the King feast in Wau on Sunday that priests should act as peacemakers for the common good of all, Voice of Hope reported.

He accused priests of preaching their personal interests instead of the Gospel of Christ.

Malakal Catholic Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Roko Taban Musa criticized politicians over defection propagandas and arbitrary arrests of civilians in Western Bahr El Ghazal.

He said citizens were confused on what to do because both the opposition and the government blamed them.

Monsignor Taban affirmed that priests would not keep quite in playing their prophetic roles on what affects the community.
