Hundreds of Christians of Magwi Quasi Parish on Sunday celebrated the feast of Christ the King their patron Saint with baptism of 34 infants and eight mothers who renewed their commitment to Christ by receiving the Holy Communion.
Fr Joseph Logura who presided over the Eucharistic ceremony noted that the day reminds Christians of a humble King who cared for the needs of his people, feeding the hungry and healing the sick, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He attributed the current crises in the country to lack of humility among leaders, saying people want to rob leadership by force.
Fr Logura noted that there would be peace if leaders emulate Jesus Christ, urging Christians to portray humility in every service they offer to the people.
He pointed out that the Catholic Church builds schools and health facilities to offer teaching and healing services that Jesus started.
Fr Logura asked God to strengthen the people and bless the infants baptized on Sunday to become leaders in the future, commenting the eight mothers for receiving the Holy Communion.
Christ the King feast coincided with 12 years priestly service of Fr Joseph Logura who was ordained on November 24, 2002 in Khartoum by Archbishop Zubeir Wako.
