Tonj peace conference in Warrap State on Thursday resolved to intensify security measures on governance, cooperation, information coordination and arresting violence perpetrators.
Information Secretary Morris Marial said the conference addressed root causes of women and children killing and cattle rustling, resolving empowerment of police and commissioners to arrest perpetrators and associates including girls’ elopers, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He added that Tonj peace conference resolved to fine any identified spear master encouraging youths to raid cattle.
Mr Marial said the conference decided that women and children murderers would be imprisoned for five to ten years without charge.
The Tonj peace conference also underlined that cattle keepers should not move from one place to another without permission letter from Payam Administrators or County Commissioners to avoid conflict with neighbours.
