Yei River County Wildlife Conservation and Tourism Department is demanding the national and state education ministries to develop a workable curriculum on wildlife conservation as a subject in primary and secondary schools.
Wildlife Director Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Taban Zachariah told Radio Easter that it is important for children to know about animal resources.
He requested communities not to kill animals since they are revenue generators that do not get exhausted like other minerals in the country.
The Director disclosed that plans are under way to carry out local community awareness on the importance of wildlife to discourage poaching.
