Rumbek Central County community members joined up to open a feeder road from Malualbab to Rongai, aiming to connect the town to villages.
Community Development Project Director Gabriel Majak told Good News Radio on Saturday that volunteer members in the community came together and are working to open a road from Malualbab area to villages southwest of Rumbek Town.
He said the feeder road is expected to improve accessibility to schools, hospitals and enable farmers transport their agricultural products to Rumbek Town.
The Director said the volunteers face the challenge of insecurity and lack of food while they work on the road.
Mr Majak urged Rumbek Central County authorities to provide security to community memebers to facilitate their work without fear.
The volunteers are using local tools such as machetes, spades and wheelbarrows to open up Malualbab-Rongai feeder road.
