Gender Director in Western Bahr El Ghazal State Education ministry dismissed a teacher for impregnating a 14-year-old primary six pupil.
Ann Daniel Ali said the teacher would not teach in any school in the state, warning that any school employing the suspect risk license withdrawal and subsequent closure, Voice of Hope reported.
She strongly warned teachers against getting into relationship with school girls.
The Gender Director appealed to parents to report girls’ early pregnancy cases to authorities for joint resolution with the school administration.
Ms Ann complained that parents want to handle issues alone without reporting to the State Gender office to take legal action, cautioning that without parents’ report, they cannot take lawful procedures.
The Director expressed her office commitment to support the pregnant girl to continue with her studies after she delivers.
