Torit Catholic Emeritus Bishop warned that South Sudanese would destroy the country if they look at each other through ethnic line, advising them to consider themselves as brothers and sisters for peace to prevail.
Bishop Paride Taban who was lecturing during the conference of St Daniel Comboni’s 150 years plan for the ‘Regeneration of Africa by Africa, on Friday in Juba, advised South Sudanese to respect and love one another because all people are equal.
He said every human being is bound to make mistake, but that a true person forgives and says sorry to someone he or she harms as the only way of bringing peace to South Sudan.
Bishop Taban warned that people are returning to paganism if they do not avoid paying evil with evil because the spirit of paganism is revenge.
He said the secret of stopping current conflict is by accepting criticism, repentance and forgiving one another.
The Catholic prelate said it is only religious leaders who can stop the war in the country by putting the Missionaries ahead to teach the Ten Commandments.
Bishop Taban advised Christians to become catechists and teach the word of God to others.
