A seven-year old boy shot dead his sixteen-year-old brother in Biri Boma, Mukaya Payam of Lainya County in Central Equatoria State.
County Press Secretary Bullen Lugala told Easter Radio in a telephone that eyewitness Reida Dawa, the mother of the boy said the incident happened on Wednesday at 8:00 PM.
Mr Bullen said the late came from the bush with the gun and placed it on a table unlocked leaving his younger brother to play with it.
He lamented that the mother heard the gun short and was terrified when the young boy claimed that the late David Jambu Denis shot himself.
The Press Secretary said County Police Officer Martin Wani Mario went to the scene and appealed to the relatives to resolve the matter peacefully.
He also explained that Yondoru Primary Health Centre Medical personnel Mariko Apollo confirmed that the bullet penetrated the head and destroyed the brain leading to death.
The seven-year-old boy claimed that he touched the gun just to play with it, but suddenly heard a sound.
