Musicians in Morobo County of Central Equatoria State refuted wild allegation that all musicians are magicians, clarifying that they are community educators and entertainers.
Latio Stephen with the artiste name ‘sisless’ argued that those labelling musicians as magic performers are life failures distracting public from observing their shortfalls, Easter Radio reported.
He added that such wild allegation against musicians is meant to discourage young people from venturing into the music industry.
Mr Sisless appeals to masses to have positive advice to youths involved in music industry rather than criticizing in a destructive manner.
Morobo Music Association Chairperson Malish Moses, identified by his artiste name ‘Young Mali’ said the association of musicians to magicians is a phonetic misinterpretation by the ignorant.
He warned that such mispronunciation damages the reputation of youth in music industry.
Mr Young Mali said the association leadership in Morobo would unite musicians through concerts and meetings to check on performance and relevance of their songs.
The Music Association Chairperson calls on supporting organizations to build youth capacity to deliver educative and informative music for transforming lives.
