Don Bosco Secondary School student leaders propose routine conduct of interschool debates to build and strengthen unity and peace efforts among students, government officials and the entire community.

Student Secretary Samuel Matur told Don Bosco Radio that the debate competitions would be by mixing up students from different secondary schools through random grouping to foster good relationship among them.

He explained that the grouping would be named Tonj Students’ Leaders Forum to spearhead peace, love and unity among students.

Mr Matur added that they are the agents of peace in their society, teaming up to pursue the cause for peace.

Don Bosco Primary School Teacher Arkangelo Adup Anyuat reiterated the saying ‘Charity begins at home’ explaining that creating love and peace among students in Tonj would spread all over the country.

He added that peace building requires collective responsibility from many players including students, government and communities.

Mr Adup advises students to cooperate in school activities like debate and football matches to contribute in nation-building.
