Government tells citizens to avoid contacts with Congolese

Central Equatoria Government on Sunday advised South Sudanese to break contacts and movements to Democratic Republic of Congo to prevent the spread of looming Ebola.
 
State Local Government Minister Francis Gerard said a temporary solution to Ebola threat is breaking contacts with Congolese, Easter Radio reported.
 
He told Yei residents that fighting Ebola requires a collective responsibility and understanding among citizens, development partners and government stakeholders.
 
Minister Gerard lamented that Ebola disease killed so many people in West Africa with a fast spread to neighbouring countries.
 
He called for stepping up of preventive efforts to curb the spread of Ebola.
 
Yei Municipal Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba called for effective and heightened awareness campaign of masses on Ebola and HIV/AIDS at levels of government.
 
The officials reiterated the need for cooperation with leadership and ordinary citizens.
