The National Disarmament Demobilization and Reintegration Commission or DDR on Wednesday graduated its first batch of fourteen ex-combatants on driving skills at Wau Vocational Training Centre.

DDR Acting Director William Tong said the graduation was part of the supplementary training that started last year in Mapel Transitional Facility, Voice of Hope reported.

He said the graduates who underwent 21-day training were from Warrap and Western Bahr El Ghazal states, urging the state government and NGOs to provide job opportunities to the new drivers who now have certificates and driving licenses.

Wau Vocational Training Center Director General Martin Maker appealed to the graduates to exert much effort to complete what they missed during the training.

Traffic Police officer Hassan Goregore urged Wau citizens to respect traffic laws to avoid accidents.

Graduates representative Udom Upieu appreciated DDR Commission’s initiative, urging it to continue doing more training for ex-combatants to eliminate.
