Mundri West County Commissioner appealed to Western Equatoria people to donate food items to assist the Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs who fled their homes due to cattle keepers.

Lexon Mobruk said they are planning to regroup the IDPs at Kulundu junction in two days time because they cannot cultivate or return to their homes, Anisa Radio reported.

He cited food, shelter, medicine, seeds and tools as urgent needs of the IDPs, describing their situation as terrible.

Mr Mobruk said a big number of cattle keepers from Jonglei and Lake States last week moved their animals and destroyed about 24.5 acres of farms in Mundri West forcing the host communities to retaliate.

He urged the communities to be patient as the government already deployed 130 soldiers to 15 cattle camps to peacefully drive back all assailants.
