Legal proceeding case management workshop convenes in Torit

A one-day case management workshop on court proceedings and investigation ended on Wednesday in Torit.
 
National Ministry of Justice Public Prosecution Deputy Director Wani Sabri Lodu told Emmanuel Radio that the workshop aimed at promoting performance of prosecutors, judges and police engaged in investigation and trying cases before the court.
 
Justice Sabri said they want to enlighten prosecutors about their roles and ethical duties in line with the Code of Criminal Procedures Act and the Transitional Constitution.
 
The Deputy Director advised citizens not to take the law into their hands, but follow legal procedures.
 
He acknowledged good cooperation between state organs, legal administration and judiciary in Eastern Equatoria.
 
The workshop funded by the United Nations Development Programme, brought together 25 participants including Legal Administrators, State Judiciary officials, police, civil society organizations, prison service and social workers.
