Salesian of Bosco Deacon in his homily during the second mass at St Mary’s Cathedral in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal blamed political leaders of starting with their wrong personal plans after the independence.
Charles Taban said wrong plans brought troubles to all citizens making them live in fear in their residential areas, Voice of Hope reported.
He said lack of space for dialogue, speech and acceptance of others’ opinions in South Sudan encouraged a culture of violence rather than using minds to resolve differences.
Deacon Taban pointed out that December crisis was a shame on the country, killing the pride he exclaimed after the independence.
He said he was discouraged because political leaders use muscles rather minds to resolve national problems.
The Deacon said for peace to prevail, people should change their lives and start to make relations with God while continuing to pray for peace in the country.
The Deacon made the remarks during the Eucharistic celebration he presided over at St Mary’s Cathedral in Wau on Sunday.
