Police land cruiser travelling from Maridi on Thursday was drawn at Luri Bridge in Juba after water overflowed claiming two lives.
One of the survivors, Halia Ali Zachariah told Bakhita Radio that three of them including a priest arrived to the Bridge at midnight and found the river full with many cars stranded, but that her deceased brother Sebit Zachariah, a police officer attempted to drive through the highly flowing water and lost the road.
She said her brother Sebit and the priest died instantly but she and the son of her sister survived and were rushed to Juba Teaching Hospital.
The two deceased brought the number of people who died at Luri Bridge to thirteen since 2013.
