Yei business community urges local authority to beef up security

The business community in Yei Municipality called on the Local Government to beef up security to protect traders and their goods from thieves.
 
Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Tito Ayambu Jakondo during a business communities and Municipal authorities meeting to improve working relations and tackle challenges, urged the government to re-organize and survey the market to curb insecurity, Easter Radio reported.
 
He said Darfur community reported that their 15 traders were facing insecurity in the market centres, adding that 250,000 South Sudanese Pounds and goods were looted.
 
Mayoress Oba Cecilia Tito said the Municipality has inadequate police force to provide security to traders and citizens.
 
The two leaders were addressing representatives from various business communities in Yei on Thursday.
