Eighteen Political Parties on Thursday warned South Sudan Democratic Forum or SSDF Chief Martin Elia Lomur√∂ and United Sudan African Party or USSAP Chief Joseph Ukel Abango for denouncing collective parties’ position paper for resolving the country’s crisis.

National Democratic Front or NDF Chairman James Aniceto Batikayo on behalf of the parties read a statement, saying those who are used to taking advantages of disasters for selfish gains be warned ahead of time, maintaining that national interest should be above others.

The reading reflects political parties’ determination to seek all means to bring the conflict to a speedy end.

Mr Aniceto through the statement told Dr Elia and Mr Ukel allegedly fishing in troubled waters not to continue confusing the public to care for their immediate benefits.

The parties dismissed the claim that they advocated for exclusion of President Salva Kiir and Opposition leader Dr Riek Machar from proposed Interim Government of National Unity, saying they stand for inclusivity.

SPLM-DC Chief Dr Lam Akol Ajawin who chairs the Political Parties’ Leadership Forum or PPLF said their position paper moderates positions of the government and SPLM/A in Opposition to fulfil nationwide interest.

He observed that the government wants to maintain the current state of affairs without reforms and that the Opposition desperately desires to inherit, expressing hope to persuade them to accept the right thing.

The press earlier quoted Dr Elia and Mr Ukel refuting arguments that President Kiir and Dr Riek Machar failed to provide security and other services to the nation.
