Western Equatoria Agriculture Minister on Tuesday met with Tombura Commissioner and farmers to inspect their progress on cultivation activities in the county.
West Yugule Kayuka congratulated Tombura County farmers for occupying second position in the last year’s state agriculture show, Anisa Radio reported.
The minister proceeded to meet the farmers in their fields on Wednesday.
Tombura Commissioner Babiro Charles Gbamisi earlier welcomed the Minister and his delegation to the County and urged them to support the farmers.
He cited huge number of snails devastating cereals as the major problem facing farmers this year.
He thanked World Vision for providing 1,500 pineapple suckers to Tombura farmers.
The State Agriculture Minister’s visit to Tombura County aimed at carrying general assessment to plan for the future of agriculture in the state.
