Murahatiha-Tirangore communities end violence

Murahatiha and Tirangore communities of Hiyala Payam, Torit County in Eastern Equatoria resolved to end violence after bloody attacks.
 
Otuho Reconciliation Committee Chairperson Eddie William told Emmanuel Radio that the two communities reached ceasefire agreement on Saturday and resolved to stop killings in the town, along roads and in villages.
 
He noted that the conference resolved to compensate persons killed and raided cattle in the recent violence.
 
Mr William expalined that one of the resolutions said delegates from Murahatiha and Tirangore are to list names of perpetrators along the roads, in villages and Torit town and forward them to the Reconciliation Committee.
 
He added  that the two parties would propose a location for the peace conference during the meeting of Wednesday.
 
The Nyong Community Chairperson who initiated the talks between Murahatiha and Tirangore said the conference is expected to end with peace prayers on Sunday.
 
He warned that individuals would be accountable for crimes committed after the peace talks.
