Drivers carrying passengers and goods along Yei-Juba and Yei-Kaya roads are complaining bad roads and many road-blocks for collecting money without receipts.
One of the drivers Bigo Isaac said poor road conditions and continuous existence of illegal roadblocks affect their business, Easter Radio reported.
He said some illegal road-blockers would not drop ropes and usually tell drivers to fly on air if they do not want to give money.
Some anonymous drivers complained that the illegal charges levied on them hinder their business because some soldiers charge five to ten South Sudanese Pounds before dropping the rope apart from 50 and 120 Pounds to the office.
Yei Drivers’ Union Secretary Steven Salah urged Yei and Kaya authorities to remove the illegal blocks and work with recognized ones to avoid ruining drivers’ business.
Earlier last week, Yei County Chamber of Commerce chairperson Lucy Kolog complained to the State Governor about the existence of many illegal road-blockers as a challenge facing the business personnel.
Easter Radio could not access road-block authorities for comments on the complaints.
