About eight hundred Catholic Christians from all seven centres on Monday gathered at Regina Mundi Ezo Parish to spend night mourning and praying together for the soul of the late Monsignor Matthew Samusa.

On Tuesday, Ezo Parish Priest Fr Jacinto Nangi presided over a holy mass of the Christians who were joined by government officials, school children and business communities in remembrance of late priest, Anisa Radio reported.

In his homily Fr Nangi urged the faithful to seek eternal life, saying being member of the Christian community is not enough without following Christ with deeds and commitments.

One of the faithful Arkangelo Rangabia said Christians came from Mariagba and Bambaraze areas to pay tribute to the late Monsignor who served for six good years as Ezo Parish Priest from 1996-2004.

He recalled that the late Monsignor Samusa led the building of the Parish Church, built fathers’ quarters and administered many sacraments.
