The Army chief of General Staff on Monday said there was no good reason why the Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs continue to take refuge in United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS’ camps in Juba as security situation is already normal.
Lieutenant General Paul Malong Awan said some IDPs including the army go to work normally during day time and return to UN base any time they want.
He said what forced IDPs to go to UNMISS in Juba was politicized, accusing them of being used by the opposition.
Lieutenant General Malong advised the IDPs to return to their homes as the conflict is among politicians.
The Army Chief said UNMISS camps are not suitable places for families with kids to live in especially during the rainy season.
He assured citizens that the security situation in Juba is normal.
