Army Chief of General Staff reported that the SPLM/A in opposition led by Dr Riek Machar Teny vowed to continue violating the Cessation of Hostilities’ agreement.

Lieutenant General Paul Malong Awan told journalists on Monday in Juba that the opposition forces have ammunitions and weapons in Bentiu, Unity State situated at the border with Sudan which encourage them to abuse the agreement.

The Chief of General Staff said the army remains committed to the ceasefire agreement because it is a valid document signed by President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar despite attacks on their bases.

He confirmed that the opposition forces crossed to Blue Nile area in the Sudan.

The Army Chief disclosed that the opponent attacked their bases three times but the areas are still under their control.

CRN could not reach SPLM/A in opposition to confirm the allegations.
