Torit Catholic Diocese Vicar General said ‘peace lies at the heart of a person who loves him or herself and others’.
Fr Arkangelo Lokoro Pio while sounding a message to people of Torit County and Eastern Equatoria in general following a series of attacks Torit-Kapoeta highway, quoted the Gospel of Matthew Chapter five verse nine as saying ‘Blessed are the peacemakers they shall be call children of God’, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He encouraged the people to embrace peace, saying ‘to attain peace, you need to be a peaceful person’
Fr Lokoro noted that as children of God, peace also lies in loving the environment and building his Kingdom.
He cited recent road attacks and killing as enmity resulting from failure to build the Kingdom of God.
The Vicar General also called for conversion of hearts through confession after making a mistake.
He described an apology as means of building the Kingdom of God and becoming his children.
Four people were killed on July 11 in two separate attacks along Torit-Kapoeta highway following murder of two girls earlier this month.
On July 12, a primary school teacher and two other people were killed in their house in Torit town.
On Friday unknown gunmen attacked a home in Hai Fodo-Fodo killing a man on the spot and wounding his wife.
