The Bishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan called on citizens to love their country and embrace peace in their daily lives.
Bishop Isaiah Dau after leading an opening prayer during the third independence anniversary celebration in Juba, urged South Sudanese to appreciate God because the freedom they celebrate would not changed, Bakhita Radio reported.
He called on the participants to unite and live together as one people, one nation under God for peace and harmony to prevail.
Foreign Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin told citizens in Juba and South Sudan to stay in peace and avoid rumours, saying nobody would attack anybody.
He said members of the National Parliament and political parties would handle issues of governance system.
Dr Marial denied allegations that Interior Minister imposed night curfew, saying people should move freely.
Many people in Juba turned up for the third independence anniversary celebration amidst fears.
