Western Bahr El Ghazal Education Minister said they started the process of increasing teachers’ salaries in the state.

Michael Madut Chan told Voice of Hope that the National Education Ministry in collaboration with its state counterpart agreed to improve teachers’ wages to maintain them in schools.

He disclosed that many teachers in Jur River County left their profession to join the army due to low salaries.

Mr Madut revealed opening four teachers’ training institutes in South Sudan before the end of October to help build the capacity of unqualified teachers for quality education.
