Over 40 Gok communities take refuge in Tonj South

At least 42 Gok communities in Malopac Payam of Cueibet County in Lakes State took refuge in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Thursday.
 
Tonj South County Commissioner William Wol Mayom said the IDPs included executive chiefs and cattle keepers’ leaders, Don Bosco Radio reported.
 
He urged communities of Greater Tonj to welcome IDPs peacefully.
 
Malopac executive chief Mayen Malopac said they were taking refuge in Tonj South because of the ongoing conflict in their areas.
 
He said they want to work for peace and reconciliation to realize development in the country.
 
The chief added that they are all coming to Tonj South with their children and women for protection.
