Western Bahr El Ghazal Public Service Minister denied dismissing 750 teachers.
Monica Sabino Madut was reacting to an article published by the Patriot Newspaper on its Monday issue misquoting her to have rendered 750 teachers jobless, Voice of Hope reported.
She clarified that she has no power of issuing ministerial order, but that all ministries were implementing state Council of Ministers’ order.
Minister Monica said those teachers were working since the liberation struggle until the achievement of independence.
She denied claims of firing two Director-Generals of Education and Physical Infrastructure in addition to 750 teachers mostly from Jur River County.
The Council of Minister’s resolution No. 27 instructed all ministries in the state to screen academic credentials of employees and appointment procedures.
More than 700 employees from different ministries were affected by the order with 145 sent for pension.
