‘A priest must be a joyful person because he is carrying the message of joy and good news of Christ’.

This was the message of Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha to Frs Anthony Obeo Gilo, John Wajaras and other colleagues on Monday when commemorating 14th years in priesthood, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He told the faithful that the young men decided to dedicate their lives to bring the Christ’s good news to the world.

Monsignor Oliha described the two priests as humble and committed people in their vocation.

He encouraged priests to consider their responsibility of preaching Christ, administering sacraments and leading faithful in order to succeed in the priestly ministry.

Eastern Equatoria minister for Youth and Sports, Mark Akio Ukinbul urged the two priests, who commemorated their 14th year in priesthood to act like herdsmen to protect, feed and lead their Christians.

Mr Akio also encouraged other priests to persevere in their vocation, saying there are few labourers in the rich harvest of God.
