Interior Minister on Friday told South Sudanese women to increase their cry for peace by knocking at the doors of the first lady and the wife of Dr Riek Machar to bring lasting peace to the country.

Aleu Ayieny Aleu blamed women for encouraging men to fight, Bakhita Radio reported.

He called women to use their position to persuade their men to negotiate and challenge ministers to work for peace.

Minister Aleu encouraged women to go to Mosques and Churches to call for peace.

He accused the faith-based groups of being behind divisions in the country.

The minister told women to stand strong to work for peace because women and children are venerable during conflict.
