Government official on Friday said assenting to Media Acts by President Salva Kiir is not the first priority, but efforts to restore peace stand number one.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachael Nyadak Paul told the press after cabinet regular sittings that signing the media law is still in process as opposed to earlier statement that it was going to be signed in May.
She explained that peace efforts now dominate everything in the country, saying Media Acts would be signed by the president soon.
Ms Nyadak dismissed opposition’s claim of detaining Kenyan plane and pilot for carrying pistols to assassinate SPLM/A in opposition commanders in Jonglei State.
She questioned the opposition’s intelligence on a foreigner attempting to carry out assassination plan.
The official described the act as a violation of Cessation of Hostilities Agreement with wise allegations to cover up the evil.
Ms Nyadak said the cabinet realized dramatic rise in market prices in Juba and that relevant authorities would establish the cause and take preventive measures.
