Eastern Equatoria Governor on Thursday formed a seven member-committee headed by John Savio Otwor to investigate allegations raised against Torit Mayor Stephen Osfaldo that led to his suspension on Wednesday.
Louis Lobong Lojore told Emmanuel Radio that there were many issues raised including accusations that the Mayor was working alone without consulting counsellors and redistributing commercial plots.
Governor Lobong said the state government cannot object their counsellors’ allegations or take action before investigation.
He added that the suspension of the Mayor and his investigation was to enable justice for all to prevail.
Governor Lobong called on citizens and counsellors to remain calm while waiting for investigation results.
The committee under John Savio Otwor which included Criminal Investigation Department, Anti Corruption Commission and State Finance Ministry is expected to file a report to the Governor Lobong within seven days.
