Wau Public Health Director said they got many expired goods especially Kenana sugar and encouraged traders to surrender them.

Angelo Hamis Alajabu said they confiscated 104 sacks of expired sugar and that most traders confessed they did not have the knowledge about expiry date, Voice of Hope reported.

Mr Hamis appealed to traders to learn reading and writing to enable them read expiry dates of products to avoid losses.

He said it took the inspection team time to convince illiterate traders to surrender expired commodities from their stores.

The director appreciated consumers of being conscious on expired goods.
