MTN and United Nations Children agency or UNICEF on Monday launched health education campaign by rolling up sleeves and dipping hands in detergent to clear sanitation hurdles to control cholera in Juba.
The campaign is a sub-theme of the 21 days of Y’ello Care, a corporate social responsibility staff volunteerism initiative of the MTN group held every June 1 to 21.
MTN South Sudan Chief Executive Officer Philip Besiimire said they thought it would be a good idea to combine education and health because of the current condition in the country.
UNICEF South Sudan Life Skills and Peace Building Education Specialist Thelma Majela told St Comboni Secondary students to be agents of social change.
Central Equatoria Health ministry Nutrition Acting Director Bina Jackson Lujanga said poor sanitation and hygiene transmits cholera.
