Priest urges citizens to pray for unity

Yei Catholic Diocesan priest called on all citizens in South Sudan to pray for the spirit of togetherness to bring peace to the country.
 
Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit in his homily on Pentecost Sunday at Christ the King Cathedral, urged the people to put aside all their differences including tribal tendencies and focus on divine leadership instituted by the Holy Spirit, Easter Radio reported.
 
He also told the congregation to ask the gift of the Holy Spirit to renew the country, its citizens and all leaders.
 
Fr Lodongo called on all South Sudanese to seek God’s power through the Holy Spirit so that the poor and suffering citizens find tranquillity and harmony.
 
On the same occasion Christ the King Parish Priest Fr Tom Poru Martin urged Christians to repent of their sins and denounce evil deeds to receive salvation.
 
He called on parents to bring their children for baptism in the Church so that they would grow in Catholic Christian way, advising them to care for their children from other trading gospels.
 
Fr Tom emphasized the need for parents to acquaint their children with the Catholic Church’s activities to beef up their spiritual development.
 
The Parish Priest gave 73 children first Holy Communion, urging Christians to commit to prayers and church activities to overcome devil attract children of \god to destruction.
