Lainya County Primary Health Care Centres and units are facing shortage of drug supplies.

The Health Director Modi Samuel told Easter Radio that the county received drug supplies from the government since January 2013 and distributed to 20 medical facilities which had finished.

He said the drug shortage force health workers to refer patients to private health facilities which are very expensive for them to afford.

He appealed to the government to supply drugs especially for cholera emergency cases because people are at risk of contracting the disease.

Mr Modi cited bad roads, few medical personnel and few medical wards as difficulties affecting service delivery to the community.
